The Woodstock Slammers have acquired Robert Zandbeek from the St. Albert Steel of AJHL for future considerations. In 127 games for the Steel Zandbeek has recorded 12 goals and 23 assists and 252 minutes in penalties.
"Rob will add speed and grit to our team. In the past he has been used mainly as a shut down forward and we expect him to do the same but we also want him to use his offensive skills. We're happy to have Rob in Woodstock and we know he is looking forward to rejoining his former teammate Branden Kosolofsky" stated Head Coach Jason Tatarnic.
The Slammers are hopeful that Zandbeek will be in the line-up tonight in Miramichi. In a separate trade the Slammers sent defenseman Mitch Mcleod to the Miramichi Timberwolves for a 5th round pick in the 2010 entry draft.
