Slammers acquire Philip Teri
Wed. Jul. 21, 2010 | The Woodstock Slammers have acquired forward Phil Teri from the Orangeville Crushers for future considerations. The Elora, ON native (6'0, 190 lbs) recorded 15 goals and 20 assists in 47 games in the OJHL last season. The Crushers also send the CJHL playing rights of goaltender Nick Gigone in the trade. "We are happy to have Philip in Woodstock and we feel we have added a player that will add offense and depth up front. Philip is an excellent face-off man and a dependable two way player" commented Head Coach Jason Tatarnic. "I am excited to be joining the Woodstock Slammers this season. I look forward to joining this exceptional and first rate organization and contributing to this team of outstanding players. I believe we will have what it takes to challenge for another championship" commented Philip Teri. The Slammers also received the playing rights of goaltender Nick Gigone but the slammers are not counting to see him anytime soon. We took a gamble on Nick as he will be attending Buffalo State next year but sometimes these players decide to return to junior hockey if they have eligibility left" added Tatarnic. Slammers fans can have their first look at Philip Teri when training camp opens on August 28th at the Carleton Civic Centre. |
