The Woodstock Slammers have acquired the rights of defenceman Murray Bavis of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland from the Yarmouth Mariners. In return the Slammers have sent defenceman Chris Stevens of Eskasoni, Nova Scotia and defenceman Jonathan McArthur of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Head Coach Jason Tatarnic had this to say about the off season trade "In Bavis we receive a 1988 mobile defenceman that plays a physical game with the abilty to make the big open ice hit. Bavis will be steady defenceman for us next season and were excited to have him in Woodstock".
Bavis stands 5'11 and weighs in at 190 lbs. In 26 games Bavis scored 1 goal and added 2 assists and 46 penalty minutes.
The Woodstock Slammers would like to thank Chris Stevens and Jonthan McArthur for their contributions they made to our club this past season. |
